" Just Another Wildflower " , 2021
Watercolour

As an artist every piece of art I make is a story most of the time non-fictional and about the real world. I incorporate different colours to set moods and use technique to tell the story. Just Another Wildflower is about a little girl who fell in love with nature and then one day was a young woman who was still in love with nature. The girl felt a connection to the wild. I incorporated this in the branch going through her face as if she was one with nature. The mixture of colour to shades explains the girl when in and out of nature. When in nature she is happy you see this through the pinks and greens that shine bright. When outside of nature she is down and maybe not herself I incorporate those feelings through the darker shades. The wildflowers coming out of her hair tell the story of beauty and the girl's definition of beautiful. All wildflowers are different as shown by their colours on the painting purple and yellow which are completely different but in the end are complementary colours. They work together with their differences and look beautiful together. As a little girl being out in nature made the girl realize everyone is like nature/wildflowers were all so different but so beautiful we come together with our different features, colours, cultures, sizes and techniques to make a beautiful society. Just like this painting it shows the difference between colours, sizing, lines, and technique. It's different and that is what makes it beautiful.
