''"Even though Manipuri women are known to be strong, bold and confident, patriarchy still prevails in most Manipuri families and all the decisions are still made by men.

This painting is from one of my ongoing series called 'Meira Paibi' which literally means women torch bearers. In this series, I am trying to portray Manipuri women as pioneer and pathfinder, breaking the gender bias and stereotypes."''
