Context: The Blue Economy conference hosted by DG MARE was originally scheduled for March 6, 2020 in Italy. However, due to COVID-19, it was postponed to November 18, 2021. The conference took place in a dedicated conference venue within the exhibition space.

Objective: The conference aimed to provide a platform for EU stakeholders to discuss the future approach to the Blue Economy. It highlighted policy tools and accomplishments in sectors like BlueInvest, EUMOFA, WestMED, EUSAIR, among others, aligning with the mission letter from President Von der Leyen to Commissioner Sinkevicius.
