Leaded Glass with copper wire detail window panel. Almost constant fluttering movement amongst the pansies with birds circling. 20”x20”
Stained Glass artist Marcia Greene is originally from New York City and received her Batchelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts (emphasis on sculpture and jewelry design) from SUNY Albany, NY in 1971. Marcia started working with glass in 1978 and found it to be the ideal medium for her, as it incorporated the three-dimensional aspect of sculpture with the detail and glitter of jewelry making, and she has made it the focus of her art ever since. Besides the thousands of types of glass, Marcia enhances many pieces with metal accents and embellishments and other media such as geodes, crystals, stones, shells. Design inspiration is everywhere (nature, real life, photos, imagination) and can run the gamut from Victorian style to modern abstract, making each work a different and fascinating experience for the artist as well as the viewer.
