One of the iconic moments of every summer for me is when the first water lilies begin to bloom on our ponds. The wildlife they attract, the beauty of the many hues, and the inviting nature of their open petals pulls me in. I look forward to it and this painting is a reflection of my love of the ponds and the flowers. I have created a water garden paradise in our yard and the textures, colors, movement of the water, appearance of wildlife often makes its way into my work in the summer months. Joy can be as a simple as a flower blooming each morning.
