Acrylic on canvas

Although outwardly we may appear to be strong and resilient, our spirits may be cracked by the stress of illness. Despite the stresses, however, we remain stoic in the thought that our work as a caregiver will make a difference. Our commitment to helping those in need keeps us vigilant and focused on the goal. Sunlight will shine, water will flow, hope will continue to feed us.

Painting allows me to speak through a voice of colour, texture and light. It is part of me and tells my story whether experienced or imagined. While painting, I feel great energy running through me and experience the freedom that is part of the exercise. Working quickly with palette knives or brushes, I capture this energy in my paintings. My goal is to express my excitement of a scene directly to the canvas with emotion and without thought. My work is encouraged by the differences in acrylic, oil, watercolour, ink and soft pastels, and by the Canadian landscape, flora and fauna. I have exhibited in numerous Juried and group shows and a solo exhibition in July 2020.
