ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ryan Henderson aka Audio Optio is a digital media artist based in Seattle, Washington. He has been creating visual sound-generated art since 2015. Grounded by engineering equations, his artwork is formed by extracting the frequencies and amplitudes that make up a song and then digitally painting it. The process allows the audience to visualize the dynamics of a song: quiet moments, crescendos, even a single snare tap. This gives the piece of work an aesthetic as well as physical meaning.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
Without technology one might think it impossible to 'see' music, but modern computers running complex algorithms can extract the data that we hear and transform it into shapes and colors. This process is not without an artist though. That is the truest sense of Techspressionism, a synergistic interaction between artist and machine to create something that invokes thought and emotion. "The Sound of Life" was created from the song "One Life" using a full range of colors spiraling in harmony.

Please note - the actual physical dimensions of this piece are 30 x 24 inches (h x w). The relative size of this work has been adjusted for the purposes of the virtual gallery presentation.
