MOLLY MALONE AT MERCHANT ARCH. and more art by Mykola Babiy

I was simply fascinated by the words of Molly Malone’s song and remembered the beautiful sculpture in the center of Dublin. The hard work of the poor brought meager money to live on. Under the influence of these emotions, a new project called “Molly Malone at Merchant Arch” was born.
I used the Repousse and chasing technique to make it. The plasticity of the copper and the warmth of its color helped me convey the warmth of Molly’s heart in the dark and cold Merchant Arch and all her desire to survive and be happy.
