Der feine Herr - The fine gentleman and more art by Herbert Lippert

Gerade in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts erfuhr die Wiener Mode einen neuerlichen Aufschwung. Die Wiener Mode strahlte dank Verarbeitung und Material Eleganz und Verspieltheit, ohne jegliche Übertreibung, aus. Ein halbes Jahrhundert nach dem Wiener Kongress konnte die Wiener Mode erneut gegen Paris triumphieren. Am 1. Mai 1873 fand die Wiener Weltausstellung im Prater statt und die Hauptstadt präsentierte sich erneut von ihrer besten Seite. Besonders das Wiener Schneiderkostüm und die Wiener Bluse erregten die Aufmerksamkeit der Modewelt.
Das Ölbild“ Der feine Herr“ bezieht sich hier im weitesten Sinne auf die Modeerscheinungen dieser Zeit und auf die extra für die Weltausstellung 1873 entstanden und kreierten Stilrichtungen. Ein Fächer mit dem Abbild der Rotunde, für die Weltausstellung 1873 entworfen, findet heute, als Nachbildung, wiederum Anklang bei den zahlreichen Touristen.

The oil painting" The Fine Gentleman" here refers in the broadest sense to the fashions of the time and to the styles created especially for the 1873 World's Fair. A fan with the image of the Rotunda, designed for the 1873 World's Fair, is today, as a replica, again appealing to the numerous tourists.
