Water and more art by Ceili Seipke

ARTIST BIO
Ceili Seipke is a Vermont-based visual artist who grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and graduated from Baylor University in Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting with a minor in Interior Design.
While raising three children and navigating various career endeavors, her artistic pursuits took a backseat, but never truly faded away. It wasn't until 2020 that Ceili returned to the forefront of her artistic passion, reigniting the creative flame.
Ceili was longlisted in the Women United Art Prize 2023 in the Photography & Printmaking category and was a finalist in the Art Prize 2022. Her encaustic photography has been featured in Art Seen Magazine and Women United Art Magazine in the spring and summer of 2023.
Her artistic essence draws inspiration from a lifelong fascination with whimsical narratives, the creation of imaginary realms, and the art of costume-making. These passions converge in her ethereal and encaustic photography, where she captures the alluring essence of women who embody a timeless, mesmerizing femininity.
In March of 2023, Ceili launched the Art Dames Society, an international support network designed to empower women creatives who are navigating career changes to the arts or rediscovering their artistic passions after a hiatus. This inclusive platform celebrates women artists who embody wisdom, experience, strength, and the timeless beauty of aging.
ARTIST STATEMENT
While the heart of my artistic expression lies in ethereal and encaustic photography, I frequently explore other mediums to keep my creative spirit vibrant and engaged.
Originally, my vision for this solo exhibition centered on showcasing a collection of ethereal women portraits that currently consume my artistic focus. However, my perspective took a turn after an inspiring visit to Art Basel in Paris and an exploration of the Central Gallery in Prague three weeks ago in October. These experiences underscored the need for a creative shift.
During my sojourn in these two picturesque cities, I unearthed the revitalization I sought, both in my personal life and my artistic endeavors. The abstract approach I embraced for this solo exhibition allowed me the liberty to embark on a journey of experimentation, pushing beyond the boundaries of mere realism to uncover uncharted realms of creativity and expression. This, in turn, breathed new life into my work and unveiled fresh avenues for artistic exploration.
