Although Edgar Redmond and Karen Briggs never met, she captured the unique combination of blues and orchestra composed by Edgar Redmond in 1971. In 2021, Karen and the Modern String Ensemble recorded at Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta.

Edgar performed his services for numerous recording companies, celebrity artists and groups including Diana Ross. Karen also worked with Diana Ross on several of her tours.

Featured at Carnegie Hall in 1999, Karen Briggs earned a cameo appearance in the movie "Music of the Heart" starring Meryl Streep, Angela Bassett and Gloria Estefan. She also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
