One example of this lavish decoration is the Throne of Njouteu, which is covered in beads. All the figures on the throne are depicted and defined by the various blue beads woven in alongside chevron beads imported from Venice (showing trade!). The figures also have cowrie shell beads further indicating the chief’s wealth.
