This is one of the first planet paintings from the Covid series. Referencing the word corona as in the sun the image is of a powerful, raging and terrifying ball of energy in deep space. At the same time the corona refers to the crown surrounding the corona virus.

Some planet paintings look like they could be the viewed through the lens of a telescope or a microscope with a sense of projected or magnified objects in the darkness yet they all relate to places, byways and ley lines, themes of previous works. The paintings are concerned not only with the current crisis, but with the internal anxiety of human existence as our impact on planet earth and the dissonance this causes, becomes increasingly apparent.
