We currently live in a colonial-settler state. The foundations of canada are rooted in invasion, theft, genocide, and violence.

Our strength comes not through authority and rigidity, but rather, through flexibility and transformation. We move, and flow, in constant flux. We come from the land, we breathe as the land, and we will return to the land.

I see room for expression and collectivity among Indigenous people in these systems. We recognize individual autonomy and celebrate its relationship to the collective. We are interconnected through care and kindness. We hold each other gently.

As the chains of these systems crumble around us we can recognize that the colonial settler project is not inevitable. We have lived and breathed here since the beginning of time. We will continue to care for this land and each other as we have always done.
