Monolith, the Face of Half Dome and more art by Ansel Adams

Monolith, the Face of Half Dome, 1927

Another straight photographer, Adams focused on capturing landscapes. He produced his own “zone system” which was a method of exposure and development control that resulted in precise finished prints. (Yorath, 2000) Adams first fully visualized photograph was Monolith, the Face of Half Dome. Adams was apart of a group called f/64 with Weston and Cunningham. (The Ansel Adams Gallery)
