Untitled and more art by Chittaprosad

Untitled
14.6 x 9.7 inch (h x w)
Woodcut on newsprint paper

The physicality of the arms and legs in this linocut by Chittaprosad are reminiscent of his early sketches of the proletariat revolutionaries inspired by east European expressionist art. In this series, he moves away from essentialising the worker as an ideological icon, to representing scenes of intimacy in everyday life. Compositionally, they are compact and beautifully balanced, placed within closely wrapped frames that enhance the sense of privacy and closeness.
