Chittaprosad’s engagement with children spanned across different forms and styles - from puppet theatre, to short rhymes, to illustrated stories. But among all his fascinating experiments with innovative ways of story-telling, the series titled ‘Tell Me a Story’ stands out. It is a retelling of the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of a menagerie of animals whose paths he crossed at different times. A lion remembers seeing a 'Big Star in the Day there in the East” and a donkey proudly boasts, “I did carry Him to Egypt.” The cattle can calmly assert that it was in their home that baby Jesus came into the world.
