My work explores the nature of identity and body politics. Through a multimedia approach, I look over traditional perceptions of the female principal to challenge cultural and political boundaries. All my works address notions of feminism, resistance, empowerment, seduction and mystiques. In my digital collages series “Les Mignonnes”, I created bucolic compositions merging pin-up style, pop culture and film noir. Reclaiming symbolic canons of representation, each collage features my original drawings and photographs and was published in my artist book. This series speaks to the work of late artist Niki de Saint-Phalle, "Les Nanas", which was transgressive to a patriarchal insight of women embedded in society at the time. My title series "Les Mignonnes" takes on current parallels while drawing metaphorically on the evanescence of beauty and youth, once famously described in Ronsard's antique French love poem about a rose flower and a lady.
