Octopus and more art by EMILY RITZ

Octopus, 2014
30 x 50 inch (h x w)
4 300
watercolor
Acrylic
pen on paper

I work with watercolor, pen, clay, and other mediums to explore my interest in both the corporeal experience and textures found in nature. My visual language consists of figurative subjects and the detailed, botanical inspired patterns I have developed over the years. My process is intuitive and meditative, drawing on both fantasy and autobiography. Whether abstract or figurative, at its core my work is always an exercise in physical and emotional healing.
