Corner of Light and more art by Eozen Agopian

The three dimensional art piece titled “Corner of light” embodies the idea of shelter. Despite the fact that The United Nations identifies adequate housing as a fundamental human right, we are all aware of countless people who are deprived by this basic human need. This work refers to this inappropriate condition of humanity. It is a mixed medium work suspended from the ceiling. It is constructed by two large canvases stitched together to create a 90 degrees corner that indicates the concept of private space. On its surface various scraps of fabric and myriads of threads are interwoven to create an environmental work that has been influenced by witnessing the improvised tents of desperate refugees and/or homeless people.
