Those sensitive fingers, millions of knots and more art by Eozen Agopian

In the mixed medium works titled “Breakthrough” and “ Those sensitive fingers, millions of knots”, I have sewn groups of weaved finger forms. These are done by wrapping my own finger with thread and then weaving it in a way that creates a mold of the specific body part. It symbolizes the exploitative practices of child labor in the handcrafted carpet industry. It is a well known “secret” that their delicate fingers are perfect for rug weaving and especially making knots. A shameful fact of deploitation that brings millions of capital to the international markets.
