I chose to make a portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This person is important to me because of how she fought for equality in the court and used her influence for good. She is important to history because she was a strong advocate for gender equality, worker’s rights, and separation of church and state. I personally have not experienced anything that I can relate to her experiences, but I admire her because of all of the positive change that she caused. In the background of the portrait there is a quote from Ruth Bader Ginsburg, it says, “My mother told me to be a lady. And for her, that meant be your own person, be independent.”
