Entertainment during WW2

The film industry was very and had a huge impact on the citizens. All the movies were still controlled by the countries government. Two days after the Britain declared war on Germany, the government ordered to close all public entertainment places, these included 4300 cinemas. The most popular forms of entertainment were radios, films and music. These entertainment forms were used to support the public. Radios were a great way to reach out to citizens and communicate with the community. Radios were much more affordable than TV, so it reached a countless number of civilians. An example of radio program is Tommy Handley's "It's That Man Again", which continued in Britain till 1949. This program kept the citizens informed about the ear efforts and to keep the spirits high during the harsh times. 40% of the whole British population listened to it.
