My first blue ballerina was created in 1998 using the sun, cyanotype emulsion on paper and a film positive. I love the freedom and magic of the cyanotype process, the richness of the blue and the way the image pops off the paper or canvas. The iconic image of a ballerina with her grace, power, femininity, beauty and perseverance are some of the reasons why I began using this image and still use it today, twenty-two years later.
