The lowlight ambience of a flamingo enclosure was a perfect setting for taking an image that compliments the highlights and shadows of the subject along with a peaceful atmosphere. When taking photos of these animals, I try to capture the different characteristics of each individual species. I was able to depict the natural beauty of one of these surprisingly tough birds. Though dainty, and maybe even a little goofy in appearance, they are exceptionally strong and durable; able to withstand boiling water, extreme levels of salinity and the consumption of highly toxic algae with ease. These birds are a perfect balance of strength and beauty, and I’m glad that I was able to show this in my photography.
