Artists from Left to Right:

Penn Kemp Canada, 2019, "In Light",
Like trees, we connect our common roots in transformation. We eat light. We eat pain. We move.

Monika Machon, London 2019, “Dove of Peace”

Lena Bartula, Mexico/USA 2019 “Ni una Menos”

Paola Albert, Mexico 2019 “Alma de Casa”

Judi Ross, Mexico/USA 2019, “Untitled”

Donnis Doyle, Mexico/USA 2019 “Never Again is Now”

Statement from Lena Bartula:
I repurposed a huipil (indigenous blouse woven by women of indigenous communities of Mexico) I had made in 2009, for the feminicidos in Cíudad Juárez. Adding embroidery and patches from other projects, it was just the right size and format for the quilt piece. On the pink crosses, which were originally painted in pink, I added Ni Una Menos, Ni Una Niña, Ni Una Mujer, Ni Una Joven, Ni Una Periodista, Ni Una Activista, Ni Una Hermana, Ni Un Rio, Ni Un Arbol. As we all recognize, respect for and protection of women and the planet are deeply intertwined and irreversibly connected.
