This piece was inspired by my niece- Jessica. As she challenged me to create a piece that was only in Black and White- a taboo for my COLORFUL taste.

The name was inspired by a movie called, "The Count of Monte Cristo". There was a scene that mentioned being the King of the moment. But it was the mindfulness, strength, and heightened senses that resonated with me the most. It was then that I realized the nurturing power of the moon and how that resonated with the Gullah culture.

During the rise of the moon, most prayers were sent to whomever we decided to pray to. The moon represented that even in our darkest hour, there would be a light to guide us.

Depending on the moon's cycle and the kind of moon, the Gullah people would know that the time of Golden Pineapple has arrived. This means that people are waking up and all hidden secrets would be revealed. Golden Pineapple- Time of Enlightenment
