If you don’t feel some level of emotion in my work then I have failed as an artist. I use scratchboard as a fine art vehicle to evoke the full range of emotions in viewers. Many of my pieces capture the impacts of famine, genocide, and war. Several depict the most respected humanitarians and former leaders in the world. These pieces represent my Presidential Series.

“Ike” depicts Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. I admire him for both his military and public service. One of his notable achievements as President was signing the Civil Rights Act of 1957. He famously used federal Army troops to enforce school integration in Little Rock, Arkansas.
