Artist Statement
I am always fascinated by flowering trees. The inspiration for this landscape painting came from the memory of a flowering dogwood tree that I accidentally encountered during a hike. This dogwood tree in full blossom stood quietly beside the trail in the wilderness. The white flowers shining in the sun stood out from the dark green background of the forest. Such a scene is very eye-catching and touching to me. In this painting I’d like to depict the tranquil atmosphere in this wilderness, and hope to arouse emotional resonance of the viewers.

Artist Bio
I am a visual artist, mainly painting landscape with watercolour and oil. After working as a graphic designer for many years, my love for painting prompted me to pick up a paintbrush and start my journey as a painter. I am graceful to be able to embrace the world with an artistic sensibility. The lines, shapes, patterns, textures and colours found in nature and the world around me have always attracted me and inspired my creativity. In my paintings, I pursue a sense of time and space and an emotional connection with the audience. In my journey of being a painter, I enjoy the process of making art, in which the unknown often surprises me.
