Artist Statement
Through this painting I want to create awareness of a very important aspect of human behaviour- that is emotional detachment, which is an inability to connect with other people on an emotional level. It can be a serious mental health challenge which can negatively affects one’s life and ability to function. It can be either ongoing or a temporary response to an extreme situation. Understanding why people behave the way they do and help them to seek treatment so that they can move forward in life.
