Artist Statement
Line, form and colour, so composed, as an expression of the moment, transcends the barrier of language, to communicate the raw unspoken emotion.
During pandemic isolation I find soulful distraction walking or cycling the nearby Humber River shores. I carry with me a small plein air kit with limited palette of oil pastels. I became fascinated with trees and the beautiful individuality of these old silent beings. From these journeys I created a small set of paintings named 'Tree Trunk' series.

Artist Bio
Recently retired from a technical oriented career. I am a creative spirit and have always loved the Arts. I now spend my time exploring my art; endeavouring to joyfully pause, savour and drink in the beauty of life. I enjoy the spontaneity and expressive freedom that art created 'alla plein air' offers me, and the many mark-making possibilities using oil pastels with various scraping tools to move the medium.
