lumen print

A Lumen Print of a Geranium Leaf on Expired Photographic Paper. Exposed in the sun for six hours and fixed over two days using a strong salt solution.

Lumen printing is one of the earliest, and therefore oldest, photographic processes, sating back to the 1830’s. Henry Fox Talbot called his invention “Sun Prints”. The context of leaves or flowers on the light sensitive emulsions, exposed under sunlight, creates shadows with black and white photopaper.
