Caged Girl and more art by RR, Beatty Fleming Middle School, 07 online

Caged Girl, 2022
Pencil and markers on paper

"When creating this piece, it took me a lot of time to think of an idea. I realized that for most of COVID we had to isolate and be in quarantine. I felt very hopeless during quarantine since I couldn’t do anything about it and I felt scared about what was going on. I tried to draw what I felt. The facial expression looks very frightened and scared as the girl hopes to go outside and is disturbed by how there is a global pandemic. The third handprint is supposed to show how the girl eventually gave up trying. The window separates the girl from the outside world, almost like a cage.
