Giorgi Kukhalashvili is a Georgian artist born in 1982 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the founder of the organization “Language of Art". In 2002 he graduated from the Iakob Nikoladze Art College in Tbilisi. In 1998, during the period of his studies at the Art College, Giorgi Kukhalashvili created his work entitled "Entering Jerusalem" which described his artistic aspirations and his interest in religious subjects.
Later in 2000, he completed his painting "Christmas Mystery" which to this day occupies a special place in his creative work. In 2005, parallel to his studies at the National Academy of Arts in Tbilisi, Giorgi Kukhalashvili opened his studio in the historic old quarter of Tbilisi and began to live from his painting. In 2007 he graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, painting department. In 2010, in his studio, he founded the Union of Young Artists “Language of Art".
Many young artists and sculptors joined the creative work of Giorgi. From 2010, Giorgi Kukhalashvili, together with the creative group, begins the implementation of various significant artistic projects. He participates intensely in the cultural life of Georgia and presents his works both in his native country and beyond its borders. The main artistic sphere of Giorgi Kukhalashvili encompasses subjects of religious mystery, such as the Mystery of Calvary, the Descent from the Cross, the Lamb of God, the Requiem, the Cross of Baraba, the Last Judgment, the Last Supper, the Mystery of the Ascension, etc.
Compositions with lyrical-allegorical content are also present in the artist's creative work, such as Don Quixote, carnival, casino, unfinished performances, etc. Giorgi Kukhalashvili's works have been exhibited in many countries such as Georgia, Netherlands, Russia, France, Belgium, Germany and the United States.
Critics recognize him as a recognized artist with an autonomous and very particular technique and pictorial language. His paintings are very often imbued with a strong and positive energy. Apart from the artistic value, the works of Giorgi Kukhalashvili also have a social and political function.
