AEfectos Personales , 2020
Video & Composition

The piece is shown as a guided tour of an apparently uninhabited apartment, in which the
characters are introduced through their belongings. The concept of the video is based on a study of
re-identification with our own space; making a record of the actions, the personal objects and living
beings that shape a sort of ecology of daily living, and with whom we have affective relationships.
The window of opportunity that self-isolation represents serves to reflect on the idea of absence as
a presence, objects prevail even when the inhabitant disappears and are re-signified when used by
an other.
Time seems to stop incidentally in the life that exists inside, when it is only possible to perceive its
course through external stimuli, where the syncretic treatment of the montage invites the viewer's
contemplative gaze to join an audiovisual journey in situ.
* This project was awarded and premiered virtually by the Culture Department of the State of
Mexico (Secretaría de Cultura del Estado de México) in June 2020 *
