Artist Biography:
I am originally from and currently call Memphis home. I spent a few years in New Orleans where my daughter was born - we returned to the area during Katrina and have been here since. I have been creating art off and on for 20+ years but have not participated in any exhibitions. I am currently in graduate school to become an Art Therapist and hoping to focus on helping women who have experienced trauma on their path to healing.

Artist Statement:
I think there is great power in reclaiming our bodies and art is a powerful tool for expression and awareness. Women have been overlooked in the arts for many years and exhibits like Nasty Women are vital to bringing awareness to the strong community of female and female identifying artists and bodies, as well as the political and social issues surrounding them. Sometimes we have to create art that is unconventional, a little uncomfortable and LOUD to show we will not tolerate being silenced or pushed aside any longer. It is important now more than ever for NASTY WOMEN to unite and make our presence known and our voices heard!
