“Eternal Light - 21c Last Supper” is reconstruction of Da Vinci's famed Last Supper painting from 500 years ago as the Last Supper of the 21st century. Every character in the work comes from a similar character from Da Vinci’s work: Jesus and all his 12 disciples. It’s about hope and betrayal, and it employs a technique called “media painting” using light. Is the dinner taking place in heaven or underneath the nuclear cloud of an atomic bomb? Massive weapons of war on the table speak to suspicion and distrust between the disciples. This work makes a query: Are we living in a comedy? Or a tragedy? On which side does hope exist?
