Here I show you an example of a stainless steel microstructure.

In this image I show the steps that I use to immerse EBSD data into a
Finite Element code that I use to model grain boundary motion during a
heat treatment..

From left to right I show you the band contrast map which is an EBSD
pattern that describes the average intensity of the Kikuchi bands.

The kikuchi bands also give us information about the orientation of every pixel which is shown in the second slice of the image.

Finally I use this data to construct the three last slices of the image: distance, orientation and grain boundary mobility fields.
