(Commissioned Print & Gift Print, 1998)

Known for her designs of public spaces, New York-based Mary Miss created the walkways and structures for Greenwood Pond behind the Art Center. Since she was frequently in Des Moines, she came to know the city. When invited by Print Club to create the Commissioned Print, she chose to work from two of her photographs of the old bridge over the Raccoon River that connected Grand Avenue with Fleur Drive. This was the first Commissioned Print to be created with computer manipulation and digital printing.
