Known for his time- and sound-based performances during the 1970s in San Francisco, Tom Marioni is a central figure in the Conceptual Art movement. Married to print publisher Kathan Brown, Marioni has made many prints at her Crown Point Press. The twisted line in One Second Sculpture reflects the shape made by a metal tape measure when tossed up into the air.
