Bitter taste of wormwood , 1990
220 x 300 cm (h x w)
cotton; tapestry weave

In the tapestry, the image of the Chernobyl explosion is embodied in a powerful destructive tornado, with a branch of wormwood "Chernobyl". A fatal tornado erupts from the depths of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and powerful arrows, in bright red-fiery shades, take over the surrounding space. The power of the tornado can be compared with the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, which led to long-term environmental problems, radionuclide contamination of landscapes, flora and fauna of the affected areas.
