Bullet through Apple and more art by Dr. Harold E. Edgerton

Bullet through Apple, 1964
23 x 26.8 inch (h x w)
Gelatin silver print

Every time I see Edgerton’s split-second photography, I am always in awe of the perfection in time. It is an art itself to get the photo at the right moment, along with the appropriate lighting and how focused the photo is overall. Seeing the moment that the bullet pierced the apple and banana at such a high speed is very intriguing, as many would not capture or notice the exact details of that split-second moment. This photography really pauses time to give viewers that chance to really focus on those details.
