Through The Light is an ongoing projected installation series created by light illuminating behind painted glass. What is painted, projects shadows on the wall, while the areas unpainted allows the light to pass through providing clarity of the image. I explore the dichotomy of light and darkness with my work as a way of spiritual connection to myself and the world around me. While experiencing hardship, I became entranced by instances of light breaking the dark in various environments around me. Light is knowing, it is awareness and recognition of pain to find inner strength. I created this piece as a way to express the waves of suffering, illumination and aspects of darkness by depicting a scene I live within.
