This piece stands as an ode to both the timelessness of Prague's Old Town Square and the fleeting nature of Kafka's life. I chose a palette of teal and black to embody the nocturnal mystery of the square, casting the astronomical clock in hues that suggest both its steadfast precision and the eerie melancholy of halted time. The clock's ornate face, intricate and luminous, glows faintly in the night, immortalizing the moment of Kafka's burial in 1924.

Dominating the foreground is Kafka himself—his translucent figure looming, spectral and fragmented, as though he were both part of the scene and dissolving from it. His gaze is distant, reflective, almost as if he observes the passage of time with quiet resignation, perpetually caught between his struggle with life and the inevitability of death.

The strokes are soft yet deliberate, meant to give the entire piece an ethereal quality, a dreamscape almost, where past and present dissolve into one haunting moment. This piece aims to capture not only Kafka's essence but also the resonance of a city whose clockwork seems forever tethered to his final chapter.
