I’ve been trying to surprise myself with fabric for a long time.
Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not, but this collection of work represents a lot of time and a variety of strategies. By cutting fabric pieces and arranging them on a flannel wall I can try things out before constructing them.
Recently I have been making circular quilts, which were challenging (in a good way).
Nearly everything is made with my sewing machine, in an attempt to spare my hands, to be very precise, and to get more done.
I still experiment with traditional techniques as a place to begin, but I never stop there.quilt
