We are Lowkira and we are an Artistduo from the Netherlands.

Our story started when we met 2017 at the University of Art in Enschede (The Netherlands). Endless nights of walking through the streets together and conversations about life and art began to translate into drawings. That is when we fell in love and our collaboration started.

New drawings and stories were born through the hands of two individuals, with two brains creating one piece of art together. Through the different lines of our hands, starting on plain paper, one line becomes an answer to the other's line. Since the paper is continuously exchanged with each other, we interpret the drawing of the other in our own way. This leads to new ideas and fantasies and this cycle leads to different stories in one drawing, readable from different sides, depending on each other.

While working on several drawings at the same time we are giving each other inspiration and the opportunity to add different perspectives. In the first year, we created hundreds of works together differing from Post-it sized works to large scale drawings. After a while a piece of paper wasn't just enough anymore, so we started to paint murals together, 'cause we both are drawn to the streets and it's sceneries. All in all, our collaborative work is a conversation between love, lust and the fascination that we share for the world around us. This way of drawing connects us even more and the bond between us grows even stronger through that we always stay in dialogue with each other and we always have something we can "talk" about with the pen. Every new experience that we have can be found in our joint work, which makes the collaboration vivid and reflects the spirit of the times.
