Oil on panel

To face the everyday stress I decided to go back to the drawing board after a 20 year break, as I found it was the best strategy for me to relax. I am submitting this oil painting in the visual media, under the title “Keep safe! Together we can beat this virus”. The subject and the vivid colors in this painting really inspired me to show that no matter how painful a pandemic may be, there is a rainbow, a hope for the future if we keep working together to be safe!

I am working as an ICU nurse educator at Montfort hospital in Ottawa. Being a nurse for 38 years
brought me many challenges. Never would I have thought that I would live during this pandemic. What a journey it has been! Yes, I could write a book, but what is important for me is that nursing throughout the years are still a passion and so rewarding if you can make a difference in someone’s life. Throughout th years my main focus was to provide safety and a quality of care to every patients, families and colleges I worked with. It was not always an easy task, but it was meant to be from the bottom of my heart. With this covid-19 period, we, as a team needed to be creative as to provide care and safety to everyone in this exceptional crisis. We are trying new things, we learn and we are proud of what is accomplished, never deviating from our focus. It will be another healing journey for me to remember in my professional life.
