Stonie Kang worked as a reporter and PD at one of the three major public TV in Korea, and supervised computer graphic designers and collaborated with them.
Graphics and animations, led by him, were used in the broadcast of the 19th Korean National Assembly Election and 18th Presidential Election, and they created a sensation. Not only the major domestic media, but also Reuters and the Wall Street Journal reported such repercussions. The following year, his activities were published as a success story in a textbook at Princeton University in the United States.
During his school days, he won many awards for his paintings, and later published cartoons and digital painting works in magazines and other media.
He studied “Visual Culture” while working as a visiting researcher at the State University of New York (Stony Brook) College of Art, and completed his PhD(ABD‧all but dissertation) in Cultural Contents at the graduate school. He also wrote theses on graffiti and Banksy.
Stonie Kang has produced hundreds of digital painting works on iPad and mobile devices, and currently he is producing works using oil paintings, acrylics, and oil pastels.
He made his debut as a guest artist at the “Dream Ability Exhibition” held at the Seoul Arts Center Design Museum in 2022.
