Masquerades and Emotions , 2022
graphite on paper

The title of my work ‘Masquerades and Emotions’ explores male mental health. I chose to draw three celebrities as their stories are known and emphasise my intended message. The 3 portraits are eye level to confront and engage the audience with a face-to-face experience. The found objects engage the audience further, reflecting the public persona of each man, as well as their mental health. The layout of the art is symmetrical, uses groups of 3, the uniformity and formality, reinforces the seriousness of the topic.
