Scornful Woman (Gertrude Schiele) , 2020
41.3 x 27.6 in (h x w)
Archival Pigment Print

This photographic work is inspired by the drawing "Scornful Woman (Gertrude Schiele)" by the Austrian artist Egon Schiele. In this work, Platnic gives life to the distorted perception and expressions of Egon Schiele. The original drawing of Schiele is translated into a life-size installation. The character is brought to life by a model who takes the painted subject’s exact position in the corresponding Schiele drawing. The photograph captures the movements of the model and unveils the details of the set made of paintings and sculptures created by Platnic.
